Design System
Project start: March 2019
Timeline: 12 months
Services: UX and UI Design
About the project.
When the Design team attains a particular level of maturity and recognizes that, in order to progress in creating novel elements while upholding consistency throughout all user journeys, they realize it's time to establish a Design System. This Design System encompasses a comprehensive design document that outlines each individual component and item employed in interfaces. These components must be configured for seamless integration into other design documents, allowing for reuse whenever necessary. This type of system fosters consistency, eliminates redundant components, and provides the team with a clearer understanding of the resources at their disposal prior to embarking on new creative endeavors.
Research.
To establish a functional design system, the UX team invested significant effort in studying atomic design principles and the art of crafting components that harmonize effectively.

Challenge.
We embarked on an extensive cataloging endeavor, encompassing every single component featured across all interfaces we had previously developed. This process involved meticulously reviewing each file to comprehensively understand the requirements that the design system needed to fulfill. Subsequently, we initiated the creation of new components, employing atomic design methodologies. Each of these components was then transitioned into symbols, culminating in the generation of files for each forthcoming template we intended to utilize.
